What is ECO4?

ECO4 is the newest iteration of Government funding available to help those who are on a household income of £31,000 (gross) or under, who are referred by their doctor/ energy provider, or a qualifying benefit to get central heating and insulation.

This is grant funding meaning you won’t have to pay it back if you’re eligible.

ECO and LA Flex Funding

The Energy Compliance Obligation (ECO) is the current Government scheme that allows us to fund projects for people in receipt of one of the eligible benefits.

Local Authority Flexibility Eligibility (LA Flex) allows us to help even more people. If people don't receive one of the eligible benefits, LA Flex allows those with low-incomes or people on child benefits get important energy-saving insulation or central heating systems.

Do I Qualify for a Grant?

Someone living in the property must be in receipt of a qualifying benefit
OR

Have a combined household income of £31,000 or less.

The customer must be an owner-occupier for Gas Upgrade.

The customer can be either a owner occupier or a private tenant to qualify for Air Source Heat Pump, Solar PV or Electric Storage Heaters.

OR have a gas central heating system with a gas boiler, less than 86.7% efficient

Have a Energy Performance EPC rating of E, F or G.

Have no EPC and we will complete a free Energy Performance assessment free of charge.

Why should I apply?

ECO4 is available now in England, Wales and Scotland. With energy bills skyrocketing, this is the best time to take advantage of the ECO4 Government grant. Bills are unlikely to come down with forecasts and the media predicting them to increase further.

What should I apply for?

If you're not too sure what you should apply for, don't worry! You're not alone in not knowing what would be best for your property. We'll be able to offer you the best for your home. Whether that's an air-source heat pump or gas central heating system, we'll know what to do!

How does ECO work?

ECO is one of the current Government energy schemes. It requires that large energy companies such as EDF, British Gas and nPower pay to have energy-saving measures installed in people's homes. This includes insulation, replacing or installing new energy-efficient central heating systems. Currently it's under ECO3, each iteration has introduced new measures and new rules that now apply.

What is the process?

Fortunately, unlike it has been in the past, it is now easy. Landlords fill out a form or call a registered Green Deal installer, they then find out if their tenants are eligible for funding from if they have a qualifying benefit or are from a low-income household, a survey is completed of the home and then the measures are carried out! The whole process generally takes only about two weeks!

How does LA Flex work?

LA Flex, launched in 2020 by the Government as an extra scheme alongside ECO, gave local authorities the chance to bid for up to £500 million pounds in funding to help those in their local area with beating fuel poverty. Local authorities set their own rules for how their funding is given out meaning that is different for each area.

How do I know if I'm eligible?

Because local councils set their own rules for how the funding should be allocated, the criteria different depending on where you operate. The best way to find out whether you are eligible for funding is by filling in a no-obligation form as we have connections with many local authorities whom we help.
